Up against those quads, an opponent revealed a royal flush, the best hand possible, sealing the fate of the quad aces. Paradoxically, it’s precisely that loss that unlocked the jackpot. The result: more than $570,000 for the player holding quad aces. The winner of the hand with the royal flush didn’t walk away empty-handed either, banking around $258,000. The five other players at the table each received close to $57,000, simply for being part of the moment.
